How we behave here

Rewynd is a record of where people have actually been. These rules exist to keep it that way.
Post your own travel. Be accurate. Leave other people alone.
Rewynd says it shows real photographs and applies no filters. Both are true, and it is worth being exact about what the first one means, because the claim is easy to overstate and we would rather you knew the limit than discovered it.
What we check. Every picture is read before it is accepted. A file carrying a generator's signature — Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL·E, Firefly, ComfyUI and others — or the C2PA trained algorithmic media declaration is refused at upload.
What we cannot check. That check reads what a file says about itself. It never looks at the pixels, because no honest tool can tell a drawing from a photograph by looking at one; anything claiming otherwise is a guess with a failure rate. So a generated image stripped of its metadata can get through. If you see one, tell us and we will remove it.
Why an unmarked photo is not treated as suspect. WhatsApp, Instagram and most messaging apps remove metadata from every image that passes through them. A real photograph that reached you through a chat therefore arrives with nothing attached. Those are accepted as unverified rather than refused — refusing them would throw out most honest uploads. Only a file still carrying its camera's make and model is marked verified camera.
No filters is the simpler promise: there is no slider, no preset, no enhance and no grade anywhere in Rewynd. What your camera recorded is what goes in the book.
Some locations are sensitive: private homes, protected heritage, and communities that would rather not be found. Think about whether a precise location helps anyone before you publish it. You can keep a stamp without publishing coordinates.
Message us and say what you saw and where. Reports are read by a person. If somebody is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first — we cannot help quickly enough.
Depending on what it is: we remove the content, we ask you to change it, we suspend the passport, or we remove it permanently. Anything involving a child, a credible threat or an immediate danger goes straight to removal and, where required, to the authorities.
If we act against your passport we will tell you why where we can, and you may reply to nivedithg@nivedithg.com. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days.
